Carlson Leisure Group's Chief Information Officer Named A
"Rising Star" By Travel Industry Publication

MINNEAPOLIS (June 18, 1998) - Les Ottolenghi, vice president and chief information officer, Carlson Leisure Group, has been selected by Travel Agent magazine as one of the "Rising Stars" of the travel industry.

Ottolenghi was recognized in the magazine's May 28 issue which identified the top 100 up-and-coming executives under age 35 from every travel industry segment. The magazine selected Ottolenghi based on his prominence in the industry, the positive impact he has had on Carlson Leisure Group and his potential for becoming an
industry leader.

During the past year, Ottolenghi formed Carlson Leisure Group's Information Technology team, leading the group in its efforts to resource new technology and combine emerging technology with product development. In that short time, the team developed: information technology standards among its more than 1,100 Carlson Wagonlit Travel franchise travel agencies; Mercavia, the company's extranet site; Mercavia RS, a front-end selling system; and enQuest, Carlson Leisure Group's Internet site. Ottolenghi is based in Atlanta and reports to Michael Batt, president, Carlson Leisure Group.

Ottolenghi joined Carlson in 1996 as vice president, Interactive Marketing/Advanced Technologies, for Carlson Wagonlit Travel, the global travel management company. In 1997, he was named vice president and chief information officer, Carlson Leisure Group.
