VICE PRESIDENT, Hank Todd joined Carlson Companies in 1995 and is responsible for directing a new business line that includes fully-integrated marketing and distribution services to national, state, city, and regional tourism offices and associations worldwide. Todd also is Vice President, Business Development, Government & Tourism for Carlson Companies, Inc. and serves as Carlson Companies liaison to government and industry associations and programs, including the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA). He is also responsible for creating partnerships with destination organizations that are mutually beneficial to Carlson Leisure Group. Most recently Todd was vice president, marketing, Carlson Wagonlit Travel where he was responsible for advertising, supplier relations, and promotional programs. Before joining Carlson Companies, Todd served as director, Minnesota Office of Tourism, where he used an innovative approach to marketing tourism, which included direct and database marketing, personalized selling, and the development of an industry/government partnership program (1978-1995). Simultaneously, Todd was deputy commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Trade and Economic Development, where he organized and chaired major marketing groups representing the eight Great Lakes states, the Province of Ontario and ten Mississippi River states, to generate greater travel to their areas from the U.K. and Japan (1973-1995). Todd has served on numerous travel boards and organizations in his career including the US Travel Data Center, National Council of State Travel Directors and Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council. Todd earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota. He lives in Woodbury, Minn. with wife, Sue, and daughters, Mackenzie and Alison.
