VICE PRESIDENT FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION CFO CARLSON LEISURE GROUP As vice president, Finance and Administration /CFO, John Dignan is responsible for directing the future growth of Carlson Leisure Group. Dignan reports to Michael Batt, president, Carlson Leisure Group. Most recently, Dignan was vice president, Finance, Strategic Planning & Acquisitions for Carlson Wagonlit Travel. He was responsible for all operating company accounting policies and procedures, the development of the controller and accounting team, planning and acquisitions, and new business development on the domestic and international front. In 1994, Dignan also assumed the duties of group director for A.T. Mays Group. In this position, he oversaw Carlson's leisure travel operation in the United Kingdom. Dignan was named Employee of the Year by Carlson Companies, Inc. in 1994 and received a Carlson Fellows for being the consummate strategist for Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Carlson Fellows is the highest honor given to an employee of Carlson Companies. Previously, Dignan served as vice president, International Development & Acquisitions (1990-1993), and vice president, Finance (1988-1990). During this time, he was instrumental in Carlson's acquisition of A.T. Mays in 1990. Dignan joined Carlson Companies in 1984, as vice president/controller with Ardan Catalog Showroom. He served as vice president/corporate controller for Carlson Companies from 1985-1988. Prior to Carlson, Dignan held numerous management positions with the Dayton Hudson Corporation. He was vice president, Administration, for Plums, a California retail startup venture for Dayton Hudson, from 1982-1984. From 1975-1982, he was employed by Target Stores, a division of Dayton Hudson. Dignan received a B.S.B. in Accounting from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and an MBA from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. He resides in the Minneapolis suburb of Eden Prairie.
