Key Personnel

"I've been involved with the academy since 1983. I view my role as Placement Director as the most important part of my job. It is my pledge to work with each graduate, who successfully completes the course, until they have a position in the travel business. Relocation and future career choices are areas I continue to be involved in for our graduates."

Nancy Randle (Director)

"I feel my extensive experience in the travel industry, working for a major airline and managing a travel agency, gives me an excellent understanding and overview of the industry. I love teaching and feel I'm giving our students the best possible foundation on which to build their travel careers."

Susie Wilson (Lead Instructor)

"Being in charge of the evening class is a challenge. Most students in the night program are maintaining a full-time job during the day, which I am as well. So I understand my students' need for a unique kind of motivation. My light and energetic teaching style results in fun classes that make the 16 weeks go fast."

Kristy Bridenhagen (Instructor)

"Team teaching with Kristy and being able to help individual students, as the need arises, give our students a sense of security. Our aim is to provide professional, uninterrupted teaching each and every session. My background as an airline sales representative allows me to bring a different perspective to the night class."

Ann Brennan (Instructor)

"8 years ago, I was the new Carlson graduate, ready to begin my new career. Hired immediately, I worked as both a corporate and leisure agent. Meeting planning, incentive travel and working with large groups came next. Teaching Tuesdays and Saturdays fits my schedule and may fit yours as well."

Sue Ritter (Instructor)

"As a 1995 graduate of the Carlson Travel Academy and a travel agent for one year, I can fully relate to our students and help them with any questions or concerns. I am responsible for keeping the curriculum current and do updates daily, reflecting the real changes happening in the travel industry."

Julie Jordan (Administrative Assistant)

Regional Policies

Veterans Educational Benefits - This school is approved for Veterans Educational Benefits. Our program meets all the specifications of the equal opportunity law as endorsed by the Veterans Administration.

Student Progress and Records - Carlson Travel Academy maintains a record of each student's admission documents, tests and results, as well as attendance and grades. After a student graduates, his/her file becomes a permanent record, maintained by the school for 6 years. Our records do not distinguish between types of absences. We have no restrictions on grades given for make-up work. While attending class, students are given weekly quizzes and, over the length of the course, three exams. Each quiz and exam is graded and presented to the student for evaluation within 3 days. All records are available to the students upon written request.
